A traditional Austrian dessert, Linzer Torte is a delightful pastry with a nutty crust and a fruity filling, perfect for special occasions or as a treat with coffee.
Directions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9-inch tart pan.
Step 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ground hazelnuts, granulated sugar, lemon zest, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and baking powder.
Step 3
Add the softened butter and egg yolks to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Step 4
Divide the dough into two portions, one slightly larger than the other. Wrap the smaller portion in plastic wrap and refrigerate.
Step 5
Press the larger portion of the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared tart pan.
Step 6
Spread the raspberry jam evenly over the crust.
Step 7
Roll out the refrigerated dough and cut it into strips. Arrange the strips in a lattice pattern over the jam.
Step 8
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Step 9
Allow the tart to cool completely in the pan before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
