Ingredients

  • 10 g cornstarch
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • 500 g mixed berries
  • 100 g sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 60 ml water

Directions

Step 1
In a medium saucepan, combine the mixed berries, sugar, lemon juice, and water.
Step 2
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries break down and the mixture begins to thicken, about 10 minutes.
Step 3
In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in a little bit of water to make a slurry.
Step 4
Stir the cornstarch slurry into the berry mixture and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
Step 5
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 6
Allow the sauce to cool before serving. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
