Ingredients

  • 1 carrot
  • 0.5 cup cilantro
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 green onions
  • 450 g ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 8 romaine lettuce leaves
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 200 g water chestnuts

Directions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 2
Add the diced onion and cook until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Step 4
Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until it is browned and cooked through, breaking it up into small pieces with a spoon, about 7 minutes.

Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and grated ginger. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture is well combined and heated through.

Add the diced water chestnuts and chopped green onions to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for another 2 minutes.

Remove the skillet from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Spoon the turkey mixture into the lettuce leaves and top with shredded carrot and chopped cilantro.
