Ingredients

  • 10 g black pepper
  • 110 g butter
  • 500 ml chicken broth
  • 10 g garlic powder
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 10 g onion powder
  • 5 g rosemary
  • 5 g sage
  • 15 g salt
  • 5 g thyme
  • 5 kg whole turkey

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
Step 3
Rub the turkey with olive oil, then season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
Step 4
Place the turkey in a roasting pan and rub with softened butter.
Step 5
Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
Step 6
Cover the turkey loosely with aluminum foil.
Step 7
Roast in the preheated oven for about 3.5 to 4 hours, or until the internal temperature of the thigh meat reaches 74°C (165°F).
Step 8
Remove the foil during the last 45 minutes to brown the skin.
Step 9
Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
