Heat ghee in a pan on medium heat.

Add gram flour and roast it on low flame until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.

Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Add powdered sugar and cardamom powder to the mixture and mix well.

Add chopped nuts if using, and mix again.

Shape the mixture into small balls (laddus) with your hands.
