  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 60 g butter
  • 200 g cheddar cheese
  • 50 g flour
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 450 g leftover ham
  • 500 ml milk
  • 250 g pasta
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until well combined.

Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.

Add the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to the sauce. Stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combine the cooked pasta, diced ham, and cheese sauce in a large mixing bowl. Mix well to ensure the pasta and ham are evenly coated with the sauce.

Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbling.
