Delicious Argentinean cheese bread, also known as Chipas, made with self-rising flour, butter, tapioca starch, egg, and Italian cheese. Perfect for a quick snack or as an appetizer.

  • 50 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g Italian cheese
  • 200 g self-rising flour
  • 250 g tapioca starch

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour and tapioca starch.
Step 3
Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the flour mixture. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
Add the egg and grated Italian cheese to the mixture. Mix well until a dough forms.
Step 5
Shape the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until the chipas are golden brown.
Step 7
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
