Step 1
Place the eggs in a single layer in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and cover. Let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.

Carefully drain the hot water and transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool.

In separate bowls or cups, mix 1 cup of hot water, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and food coloring.

Dip the cooled eggs into the dye mixtures for about 5 minutes or until desired color is achieved. Use a spoon to remove the eggs and let them dry on a rack or paper towels.

For a marbled effect, add 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the dye mixture. Gently swirl the eggs in the dye before removing them to dry.
