Ingredients

  • 250 ml beef broth
  • 4 beef steaks
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 120 ml heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 shallots
  • 60 ml whiskey

Directions

Step 1
Season the steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Step 2
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 3
Add the steaks to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Remove steaks from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt.
Step 5
Add the chopped shallots and cook until they are softened and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

Carefully add the whiskey to the skillet and let it simmer for about 1 minute.

Add the beef broth and let it reduce by half, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 8
Stir in the heavy cream and let the sauce simmer until it thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 9
Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Let them heat through for about 2 minutes.
Step 10
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
