  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 4 catfish filets
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 120 g cornmeal
  • 60 g flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 240 ml milk
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 120 ml vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
In a shallow dish, combine cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Step 2
Pour milk into another shallow dish.
Step 3
Dip each catfish filet into the milk, then dredge in the cornmeal mixture, ensuring an even coating on both sides.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 5
Once the oil is hot, add the catfish filets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Step 6
Remove the filets from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Step 7
