Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a medium saucepan, heat the milk until it just begins to simmer.

In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, butter, and cornflour until smooth.

Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and whisk until well combined.

Slowly pour the hot milk into the sugar mixture, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens to a custard consistency.

Pour the custard into the pre-baked pastry shell.

Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the top of the custard.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the custard is set and lightly golden.
