Ingredients

  • 480 ml chicken broth
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 400 g green chilies
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 900 g pork shoulder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cubed pork shoulder and brown on all sides.
Step 2
Transfer the browned pork to the slow cooker.
Step 3
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
Step 4
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic and stir well to combine.
Step 5
Add the chicken broth to the skillet, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
Step 6
Pour the mixture into the slow cooker over the pork.
Step 7
Add the diced green chilies, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir well to combine.
Step 8
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the pork is tender.
