Ingredients

  • 480 g all-purpose flour
  • 4 g baking soda
  • 30 g cornmeal
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 10 g salt
  • 15 g sugar
  • 480 ml warm milk
  • 120 ml warm water

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and instant yeast.

Add warm milk and warm water to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan and sprinkle the top with cornmeal.

Cover the pan with a clean towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes until it has doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
