  • 1 bay leaf
  • 960 ml beef broth
  • 900 g beef stew meat
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 4 carrot
  • 4 stalks celery
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 onion
  • 4 potato
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 170 g tomato paste

Directions

Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Step 2
Add beef stew meat and cook until browned on all sides.
Step 3
Add onions and cook until softened.
Step 4
Stir in tomato paste and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add beef broth, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
Step 6
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
Step 7
Add potatoes, carrots, and celery to the pot.
Step 8
Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
Step 9
Remove bay leaf before serving.
