Ingredients

  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 500 g beef stew meat
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 carrots
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 500 g pork shoulder
  • 3 potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 g spinach
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1.5 l water

Directions

Step 1
In a large pot, brown the beef and pork over medium heat until well-seared. Remove and set aside.
Step 2
In the same pot, sauté the onions and garlic until translucent.
Step 3
Add the bell peppers, celery, and carrots, and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 4
Return the browned meats to the pot and add the potatoes, thyme, allspice, black pepper, salt, and water.
Step 5
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 1.5 hours, or until the meat is tender.
Step 6
Add the spinach and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
Step 7
Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve hot.
