Ingredients

  • 7 g active dry yeast
  • 7 g active dry yeast (for topping)
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 120 ml milk
  • 100 g rice flour
  • 10 g salt
  • 30 g sugar
  • 15 g sugar (for topping)
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 15 ml vegetable oil (for topping)
  • 240 ml warm water
  • 120 ml warm water (for topping)

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour, warm water, milk, sugar, salt, yeast, and vegetable oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Step 2
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Step 3
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a separate bowl, combine the rice flour, warm water, sugar, yeast, and vegetable oil to make the topping. Mix until smooth.

Spread the topping mixture over the rolls, covering them completely.
Step 7
Let the rolls rise for another 20 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 8
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and cracked. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
