In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped broccoli and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the broccoli is tender, about 15 minutes.
