Directions
Step 1
Combine granulated sugar and evaporated milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar is dissolved.

Add the chopped maraschino cherries and butter to the saucepan. Continue to cook and stir for another 5 minutes.

Stir in the miniature marshmallows and vanilla extract until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

Remove the saucepan from heat and gradually stir in the powdered sugar until fully combined. The mixture will become thick.

Spread the cherry mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Let it cool and set for about 2 hours.

Melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
