Pan-Fried Chinese Pancakes

These delicious pan-fried Chinese pancakes are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Perfect as a snack or appetizer, they are easy to make with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g green onions
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 10 ml sesame oil
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 180 ml water

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour and boiling water. Stir until the dough comes together.
Step 2
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each part into a ball and then flatten each ball into a disk.
Step 4
Brush each disk with vegetable oil and sprinkle with green onions and salt.
Step 5
Roll each disk into a log, then coil the log into a spiral. Flatten each spiral with a rolling pin into a pancake shape.
Step 6
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add some vegetable oil. Cook each pancake for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Step 7
Brush each pancake with a little sesame oil before serving. Serve hot.
