Braised Flank Steak with Lemon

A tender and flavorful braised flank steak cooked with lemon and garlic. This dish is perfect for a hearty family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 30 g all purpose flour
  • 1 kg beef flank steak
  • 500 ml chicken broth
  • 10 g garlic powder
  • 60 ml lemon juice

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
Season the flank steak with salt and pepper.
Step 3
In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Sear the flank steak on both sides until browned.
Step 4
Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Step 5
In the same skillet, add garlic powder and flour. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 6
Add the chicken broth and lemon juice to the skillet, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
Step 7
Return the steak to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top.
Step 8
Cover the skillet and place it in the preheated oven. Braise for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the steak is tender.
Step 9
Remove from the oven and let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Step 10
Serve the steak with the sauce spooned over the top.
