Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 60 g butter
  • 600 g chicken breast
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 150 g Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 ml tomato puree
  • 1 tsp turmeric

Directions

Step 1
Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
Step 2
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
Step 3
Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 4
Transfer the onion, garlic, and ginger mixture to the slow cooker.
Step 5
Add the chicken pieces, tomato puree, heavy cream, Greek yogurt, garam masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
Step 6
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Step 7
Stir in the chopped fresh cilantro just before serving.
Step 8
Serve the butter chicken with rice or naan bread.
