Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 800 g baked beans
  • 250 ml barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 400 g kidney beans
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon, crumble, and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
Step 3
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
Step 4
In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Step 5
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked bacon, ground beef, onion, garlic, baked beans, kidney beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, molasses, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Step 6
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, until bubbly and heated through.
Step 7
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
