  • 1 bay leaf
  • 960 ml beef broth
  • 900 g beef chuck roast
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 French bread rolls
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 30 ml Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1
Place the beef chuck roast in a slow cooker.
Step 2
Add the sliced onion and minced garlic over the beef.
Step 3
Pour the beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce into the slow cooker.
Step 4
Add the bay leaf and black pepper.
Step 5
Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until the beef is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
Step 6
Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
Step 7
Strain the cooking liquid to remove solids, reserving the liquid as au jus for dipping.
Step 8
Place the shredded beef on toasted French bread rolls and serve with a side of au jus for dipping.
