  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 g black pepper
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 450 g dried split peas
  • 1 ham bone
  • 1 onion
  • 5 g salt
  • 2000 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Rinse the split peas under cold water and remove any debris.
Step 2
In a large pot, combine the split peas, ham bone, onion, celery, carrots, and water.

Add the bay leaf, salt, and black pepper to the pot.
Step 4
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Stir occasionally and cook until the peas are tender and the soup has thickened.

Remove the ham bone, chop any remaining meat, and return it to the pot.
