Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken thighs
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 spring onions
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 100 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
Step 3
Add the chicken thighs to the pan and cook until browned on all sides.
Step 4
Pour in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and water. Stir to combine.
Step 5
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Step 6
Add the cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens.
Step 7
Stir in the chopped spring onions and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Step 8
Serve the oyster sauce chicken hot over steamed rice.
