A rich and buttery classic French brioche, perfect for breakfast or as a snack. It's fluffy, tender, and easy to make.
Directions
Step 1
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
Step 3
Add the eggs and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Step 4
Gradually add the softened butter, a little at a time, until fully incorporated and the dough is smooth and elastic.
Step 5
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Step 6
Punch down the dough and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Shape the dough into a loaf or divide it into smaller portions for rolls.
Step 7
Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 1 hour.
Step 8
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 9
Bake the brioche for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 10
Allow the brioche to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
