A tangy and sweet cranberry chutney perfect for holiday dinners or as a spread for sandwiches. This chutney combines cranberries with apples, onions, and a mix of spices for a flavorful condiment.

  • 1 apple
  • 450 g fresh cranberries
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 onion
  • 100 g raisins
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 200 g sugar
  • 60 ml water
  • 120 ml white vinegar

Directions

Step 1
In a large saucepan, combine the cranberries, apple, and onion.
Step 2
Add the sugar, vinegar, water, ginger, cinnamon, and salt to the saucepan.
Step 3
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes, until the cranberries have burst and the mixture thickens.
Step 5
Stir in the raisins and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 6
Remove from heat and let the chutney cool before serving or storing in jars.
