Ingredients

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g bread crumbs
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 100 g flour
  • 200 ml ice water
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1000 ml vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
Shape the ice cream into balls and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze until solid.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, and baking powder.
Step 3
Add the ice water and egg yolk to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. The batter should be cold.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 180°C (350°F).
Step 5
Dip each frozen ice cream ball into the batter, then roll in bread crumbs.
Step 6
Carefully place the coated ice cream balls into the hot oil and fry for about 20-30 seconds, until golden brown.
Step 7
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
