Ingredients

  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 cheese slices
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 1 onion
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 potatoes
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tomato
  • 500 ml vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Step 2
Cut the potatoes into thin strips for fries.
Step 3
Soak the potato strips in water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
Step 4
Drain and pat the potato strips dry with paper towels.
Step 5
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Fry the potato strips in batches until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Season the fries with 1 teaspoon of salt while still hot.

In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Form into 4 patties.

Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.

Place a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt.

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices.

Serve the burgers with the freshly made fries on the side.
