  • 960 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon anise extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 60 grams butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 480 grams powdered sugar

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, beat the eggs until light and fluffy.

Gradually add powdered sugar and softened butter, beating continuously.

Add anise extract and mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, beating until a stiff dough forms.

On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.

Use a Springerle rolling pin or cookie molds to emboss the dough with designs.

Cut the embossed dough into shapes using a knife or cookie cutters.
