Ingredients

8 Servings
  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 150 g cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 green onions
  • 120 g ham
  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 45 ml ice water
  • 240 ml milk
  • 0.5 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 113 g unsalted butter

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
Step 2
In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together. Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 3
Gradually add the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Form the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Step 4
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges.
Step 5
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and milk until well combined.
Step 6
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, diced ham, chopped green onions, black pepper, and nutmeg.
Step 7
Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust.
Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the top is golden brown.
Step 9
Allow the quiche to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
