  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 10 grams baking powder
  • 150 grams butter
  • 300 grams cherries
  • 3 eggs
  • 120 milliliters milk
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 5 milliliters vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.

In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Step 3
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Mix in the vanilla extract.
Step 5
In another bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder.

Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Fold in the pitted cherries gently.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
