Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups water

Directions

Step 1
In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
Step 2
Add the rolled oats and salt, reduce heat to medium, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3
Stir in the diced apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes, or until the oats are tender and the apples are soft.
Step 4
Remove from heat and stir in the milk.
Step 5
Serve hot, garnished with additional apple slices and a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
