Ingredients

  • 900 g figs
  • 60 ml lemon juice
  • 450 g sugar
  • 120 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Wash the figs thoroughly and remove the stems.
Step 2
Cut the figs into quarters.
Step 3
In a large pot, combine the figs, sugar, lemon juice, and water.
Step 4
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently.
Step 5
Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened.
Step 6
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Step 7
Once the preserves have reached the desired consistency, remove them from the heat.
Step 8
Let the preserves cool slightly before transferring them to sterilized jars.
Step 9
Seal the jars and allow them to cool completely before storing.
