Classic Meatloaf with Oats

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 900 g ground beef
  • 60 ml ketchup
  • 240 ml milk
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 180 g oats
  • 1 onion
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, oats, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Step 3
Press the meat mixture into a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard together to make the sauce.
Step 5
Spread the sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).
Step 7
Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
