  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 113 grams butter
  • 125 grams flour
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 240 milliliters hot water
  • 150 grams light brown sugar
  • 120 milliliters milk
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 30 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
Melt the butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish in the oven.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
Step 5
Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
Step 6
In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa powder and light brown sugar. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
Step 7
Gently pour the hot water over the top. Do not stir.
Step 8
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is set and the cobbler is bubbly.
Step 9
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Best served warm with ice cream.
