Hearty Steak and Potato Pie

Ingredients

  • 500 ml beef stock
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 onion
  • 1 pastry sheet
  • 400 g potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 500 g steak

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
Step 2
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the onions until translucent.
Step 3
Add the diced steak and cook until browned on all sides.
Step 4
Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add the beef stock, carrots, potatoes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 6
Transfer the mixture to a pie dish and cover with the puff pastry sheet, trimming any excess.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
Step 8
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
