  • 250 ml apple juice
  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 10 cloves
  • 15 g cornstarch
  • 1 kg ham
  • 100 ml honey
  • 50 g mustard
  • 50 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern and stud with cloves.
Step 3
In a bowl, mix brown sugar, honey, and mustard. Brush the mixture over the ham.
Step 4
Place the ham in a roasting pan and pour apple juice into the pan.
Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, basting occasionally with the juices in the pan.
Step 6
Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest before slicing.
Step 7
For the gravy, strain the pan juices into a saucepan. Mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry, then stir into the pan juices.
Step 8
Cook over medium heat until the gravy thickens, stirring constantly.
Step 9
Serve the sliced ham with the sweet gravy.
