  • 2 bay leaves
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1000 g octopus
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 15 g parsley
  • 120 ml red wine
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 30 g tomato paste
  • 400 g tomatoes

Directions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
Step 3
Add the cleaned octopus to the pot and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Stir in the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and red wine.
Step 5
Add the bay leaves, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, salt, and black pepper.
Step 6
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 60-75 minutes, or until the octopus is tender.
Step 7
Remove the bay leaves, cinnamon stick, and cloves before serving.
Step 8
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.
