Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 60 ml mirin
  • 60 ml sake
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 120 ml soy sauce
  • 50 g sugar
  • 30 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the marinade.
Step 3
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
Step 4
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken until fully cooked, about 10 minutes.
Step 5
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
Step 6
Add the slurry to the pan and cook until the sauce thickens.
Step 7
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken before serving.
