Ingredients

  • 14 g active dry yeast
  • 900 g all-purpose flour
  • 60 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 10 g salt
  • 100 g sugar
  • 240 ml warm milk
  • 240 ml warm water

Directions

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, warm milk, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Sprinkle the yeast over the liquid mixture and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Add salt, egg, and softened butter to the yeast mixture. Mix well.

Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Continue until a soft dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 24 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them on a greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.

Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 190 degrees C (375 degrees F).
