  • 0.5 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 onions
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the sliced onions and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften.

Sprinkle brown sugar over the onions and stir well to combine.

Continue to cook the onions for another 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown.

Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper to the caramelized onions. Stir well to combine.

Reduce the heat to low and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and becomes jam-like.
