  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 720 g ice
  • 240 ml milk
  • 180 g rock salt
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 100 g sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
In a medium bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 2
Pour the mixture into a quart-sized resealable plastic bag. Seal the bag tightly, ensuring there are no leaks.
Step 3
Fill a large gallon-sized resealable plastic bag halfway with ice. Add the rock salt to the ice.
Step 4
Place the sealed quart-sized bag with the ice cream mixture into the gallon-sized bag filled with ice and salt. Seal the gallon-sized bag tightly.
Step 5
Shake the bags vigorously for about 5 minutes, making sure the ice surrounds the smaller bag evenly.
Step 6
After 5 minutes, check the consistency of the ice cream. If it's thick and creamy, it's ready to eat. If not, continue shaking for a few more minutes.
Step 7
Carefully remove the smaller bag from the larger bag. Wipe off any salt from the outside of the smaller bag before opening.
Step 8
Serve the ice cream immediately or store in the freezer for a firmer texture.
