Ingredients

  • 15 grams all-purpose flour
  • 3 apples
  • 50 grams brown sugar
  • 10 grams coarse sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 100 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts
  • 15 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and flour. Mix well to coat the apples evenly.
Step 3
Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface and cut out circles using a round cutter or the rim of a glass (about 4 inches in diameter).
Step 4
Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and press the edges with a fork to seal.
Step 5
In a small bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush the top of each hand pie with the egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
Step 6
Place the hand pies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Allow the hand pies to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
