Creamy Caramel Flan

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 370 ml evaporated milk
  • 200 g sugar
  • 400 ml sweetened condensed milk
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 60 ml water
  • 240 ml whole milk

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt sugar until golden. Add water slowly and stir until smooth. Pour caramel into a round baking dish to coat the bottom evenly.
Step 3
In a large bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Step 4
Pour the milk mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
Step 5
Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan filled with hot water halfway up the sides of the baking dish.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 7
Remove from oven and let cool. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Step 8
To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen. Invert onto a serving plate and enjoy!
