In a medium pot, bring the water and cinnamon stick to a boil.

Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, until the water is infused with the cinnamon flavor.

Remove the cinnamon stick and add the piloncillo, stirring until it is completely dissolved.

In a separate bowl, whisk the masa harina with a little bit of water to make a smooth paste.

Gradually add the masa harina paste to the pot, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Pour in the milk and continue to cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.

Add the chopped Mexican chocolate and stir until melted and well combined.
