Ingredients

  • 375 g all-purpose flour
  • 5 g baking soda
  • 230 g butter
  • 10 g cinnamon
  • 5 g cream of tartar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 g salt
  • 300 g sugar
  • 50 g sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Step 2
In a large bowl, cream together butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until smooth.
Step 3
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Step 4
Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
Step 5
Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon in a small bowl.
Step 6
Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls and roll the balls in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Step 7
Place the cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Step 8
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cookies should be set but not too hard.
Step 9
Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for about 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
