A rich and flavorful Bolognese sauce made easily in a slow cooker. Perfect for pasta, this recipe combines ground beef, tomatoes, and aromatic vegetables for a hearty meal.

  • 250 ml beef broth
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 800 grams canned tomatoes
  • 2 carrot
  • 2 celery stalk
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 125 ml red wine
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

Directions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
Step 2
Transfer the browned beef to the slow cooker.
Step 3
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, diced carrots, and diced celery. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
Step 4
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute.
Step 5
Transfer the vegetables and garlic to the slow cooker.
Step 6
Add the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, beef broth, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
Step 7
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Step 8
Stir the sauce occasionally and adjust seasoning if needed.
Step 9
Serve the Bolognese sauce over cooked pasta and enjoy!
