A refreshing and tangy seafood dish where fresh fish is marinated in citrus juices, mixed with vibrant vegetables and herbs. Perfect for a light appetizer or a summery main course.

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 500 g fresh fish fillets
  • 1 jalapeño
  • 240 ml lime juice
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tomatoes

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the diced fish and lime juice. Ensure the fish is fully submerged in the juice. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until the fish is opaque and 'cooked' through.
Step 2
Drain the lime juice from the fish, then add the chopped red onion, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeño, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
Step 3
Gently fold in the diced avocado just before serving to avoid mashing it.
Step 4
Serve the seviche chilled, with tortilla chips or as a topping for tostadas.
