  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 liters beef broth
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

Directions

Step 1
In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Step 2
Add the chopped onion, garlic, celery, and carrots to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 4
Add the diced potatoes, beef broth, salt, pepper, thyme, and bay leaf to the pot. Bring to a boil.
Step 5
Reduce the heat to low and let the stew simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
Step 6
Remove the bay leaf before serving.
